THOMAS WOLFE 8K OCTOBER 18, 2014
The oldest road race in Asheville (38 years!) winds through beautiful downtown Asheville, North Carolina, passing into the Historic Montford District, the Reed Creek Greenway, and Riverside Cemetery, before finishing in front of Thomas Wolfe Memorial House at 52 N. Market St.
In addition to the awards at the end, this race is unique in that it includes two cash sprints: the 1 Mile Sprint and the 3 Mile sprint, both sponsored last year by Jus’ Running. The fastest male and female runners at each marker will receive a cash bonus of $50.00!!!The 38th running of the TW8K is also part of the 2014 Asheville Track Club Grand Prix series. NEW!!! Asheville Track club Volunteer Connection
We all appreciate the hard work and commitment it takes to coordinate a well organized race. Creating a successful event starts with the help of enthusiastic volunteers. We are adding a new page to the ATC site to connect folks who wish to volunteer with the local area races that need their help. Interested in helping out with a race? Please check out our new Volunteer page. We will be listing the volunteer positions and contact information for races in the Asheville/Buncombe county area. Stay tuned in the upcoming weeks as we add more races to this page.
Are you coordinating or directing a race and need volunteers? Please contact Ali Schuetze to post your information on our site.
