New Year’s Day Run to Benefit WNC Women with Breast Cancer
Interested in a New Year’s Day activity that combines fun, philanthropy and fitness? Registration is now open for a run to benefit Western North Carolina women with breast cancer. The Karen Kicks Cancer event is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 1. This non-competitive run will begin at Carolina Day School (1345 Hendersonville Road, Asheville) and take participants along a rolling, four-mile course through Biltmore Forest. The event also includes a two-mile walk, random prizes, a raffle and a silent auction. This race is sponsored by the ATC and proceeds from the race will benefit Asheville local journalist and cancer survivor Karen Chávez and the nonprofit Hope Chest for Women.

NEW!!! Asheville Track club Volunteer Connection
We all appreciate the hard work and commitment it takes to coordinate a well organized race. Creating a successful event starts with the help of enthusiastic volunteers. We are adding a new page to the ATC site to connect folks who wish to volunteer with the local area races that need their help. Interested in helping out with a race? Please check out our new Volunteer page. We will be listing the volunteer positions and contact information for races in the Asheville/Buncombe county area. Stay tuned in the upcoming weeks as we add more races to this page.
Are you coordinating or directing a race and need volunteers? Please contact Ali Schuetze to post your information on our site.
