The 2013 Wired Mouse ATC Grand Prix Series Rules
1. You must be an ATC member to participate in the Grand Prix. You will not score points in a race if you are not an ATC member. In other words, no retroactive scoring.
2. Points will be awarded only for your position in the race distance designated on the Grand Prix schedule
3. Competitors may run as many series races as they choose. Full point scoring will be applied to the competitor’s 10 best results for the Overall, Masters and Grand Masters competition.. Age group competitors will receive full point scoring for their 5 best results. All competitors must complete a minimum of 5 races to earn a finisher award and to be eligible for awards. However, 19 & under competitors will receive full point scoring for up to their 5 best results with a minimum race requirement of two races.
4. Age group competitors who complete more than 5 races can receive one race point for each additional race up to a maximum of 3 race points.
5. The Grand Prix will be scored as follows:
- Overall Scoring: The top finisher in each race will receive 100 points. The second finisher will receive 99 points and each subsequent finisher will receive one less point down to a minimum score of 1 point. Awards to first three.
- Masters (age 40 and up) Scoring: The top finisher in each race will receive 100 points. The second finisher will receive 99 points and each subsequent finisher will receive one less point down to a minimum score of 1 point. Awards to first two.
- Grand Masters (age 50 and up) Scoring: Grand Masters will be scored using an age graded system. The top finisher in each race will receive 100 points. The second finisher will receive 99 points and each subsequent finisher will receive one less point down to a minimum score of 1 point. Awards to first two.
- Age groups: The top finisher in each race will receive 10 points. The second finisher will receive 9 points and each subsequent finisher will receive one less point down to a minimum score of 1 point. Awards to first three. Both the 75 and over and the 19 and under Age Group participants will be scored in the age group using age-graded percentiles, thus leveling age differences.
- Competitors who earn awards will receive the highest award for which they are eligible. No “double-dipping”.
- Competitors will earn a bonus point for each of the ATC races that they participate in. The ATC races for this year are the Ramble Run 12K and the Thomas Wolfe 8K. The bonus points will be added to the competitor’s cumulative points at the end of the season.
7. If you change age groups during the Grand Prix season, you will compete in your new age group. Points that you accrued in the younger age group will transfer to the new age group.
7. The age groups are as follows: 19 & under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 – 74, 75 & over.
8. In the Overall, Masters, and Grand Masters categories final result ties will be broken by a comparison of the head-to-head race results for the runners who are tied. If ties still exist, head to head results in the ATC races, Ramble Run 12K and the Thomas Wolfe 8K, will be compared. If a tie still exists we will declare a tie and cash prizes will be split. In age group categories ties will be broken by comparing the runners overall points.
